First United Bank & Trust sponsored the 20th
Annual Charity Golf Tournament at the Oakland Golf Club
on Friday, July 11. This was the 10th year
the bank has organized this event, which has become a
tradition over the past 19 years and has resulted in
more than $285,000 being given to Garrett County
charities. This year, the recipient of the tournament
proceeds was the United Way of Garrett County, to which
First United donated over $21,000. “We are extremely
appreciative of the hard work and support that First
United provided at this year’s tournament,” said
Jeannette Rudy Fitzwater, campaign co-chair of the
United Way. “The donation will be of great use to the
United Way charities in our community.” For the first
time in tournament history, there was a hole in one on
hole number 17. Mike Sipple, who played on the Don
Parsons Mortgage Consultant Team, made the shot. He was
rewarded with a free golf pass for a year. Pictured
