Garrett County Day of Caring and Sharing

The United Way of Garrett County would like to thank everyone involved with the Garrett County Day of Caring and Sharing.  All of the volunteers helped to clean up Garrett County or provide assistance in various ways on Friday, September 19, and the event was a huge success.

The chairs of the event this year were Robin Murray and Marta Schroyer.  There were projects at the Garrett County Department of Social Services, Accident Elementary School, Crellin Elementary School, the Dove Center, Grantsville Senior Center, Yough Glades Elementary School, Diakon Adult Day Services at Mtn. Glade, Christian Crossing and the Oakland Volunteer Fire Department.

Thank you to our major sponsor, Columbia Gas of Maryland, which sponsors and participates with the Days of Caring and Sharing in Cumberland, Frostburg and Oakland.

Food contributors for breakfast and lunch were Robin Murray, Marta Schroyer, Ledo’s Pizza and CSX.

A special thank you to the members of the Oakland Volunteer Fire Department for allowing us to use their building for registration and for lunch.

Your hard work and contributions are greatly appreciated.  Thank you for caring and making a difference in our community!

                                                                                                            Sincerely,

                                                                                                United Way of Garrett County
